Are dental health services covered by the Quebec health plan (RAMQ)?RAMQ covers most dental treatments for patients under the age of ten. Treatments like dental cleanings, which are considered to be of an aesthetic nature, are not covered. |
Do you take patients who receive social assistance, and what is their coverage? We see all patients, without judgment or discrimination. Social assistance covers one preventive exam and one scaling procedure per year. Almost all treatments are covered, with the exception of root canals, fixed dentures (i.e., crowns, bridges, implants, etc.) and aesthetic treatments (i.e., white composite fillings on a molar). If needed, our denturist can help you fill out your claim to have your prosthesis reimbursed. |
What do dental treatments cost? Each year, the Association des chirurgiens dentistes du Québec publishes a Fee guide for Dental Treatment Services for its members. Several factors may influence a clinic’s decision whether to follow these recommendations or not. These are usually based on the clinic’s location, expenses, level of expertise, etc. In addition, the cost of each treatment can vary according to the procedure itself, the materials used, and the level of complexity involved. For an accurate quote, it’s generally best to schedule an exam. We will then be able to provide adequate explanations and guide you in your decision, based on your priorities. |

What does my group or individual insurance cover, and do you take direct payments? It is important to ask all of these questions to your insurer before your appointment, because we don’t have access to the following information:
During your visit, make sure to have the name of your insurance company on hand, along with your certificate and policy number. If your insurance allows it, we will submit your claim electronically. You remain responsible for all payments, and you will need to pay the uncovered portion of your treatment, if applicable. This amount is due on the day of your visit. It is your sole responsibility to fully understand your insurance coverage and to know the maximal yearly reimbursement amount allowed by your plan. |
